Sorbitan monostearate is used as an emulsifier and as a non-ionic surfactant. It is used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food preparation.

Sorbitan monostearate is used as an emulsifier and as a non-ionic surfactant. It is used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food preparation.

Solubility
Soluble in ethanol (50 mg/ml), isopropanol, mineral oil and vegetable oil. Insoluble in water.

Notes
Keep container tightly closed. Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed containers. Store at room temperature. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.
