It is an important raw material used to prepare Grignard reagent by reacting with magnesium. Further, it reacts with hydrocyanic acid to prepare sodium salt to get (+-)-sec-butyl cyanide. It is an important raw material used to prepare Grignard reagent by reacting with magnesium.
